Reviewing the issues below will assist you in
getting set up fast! You can also identify and correct potential
problems in using Dorman Direct most efficiently. Remember that
any changes you make to your PC may affect other programs that
you use.

Explorer are you running?

What operating
system do you use?
Any Windows operating system that supports Framework 1.1. Click here
to see how to check what operating system your PC is using.
How are you connected
to the Internet?
If you are using a dial-up connection, you may experience
more bottlenecks in price feeds and order transmission. This
can be due to market conditions but also due to traffic on
your Internet Service Provider's network. High speed connections
(i.e. DSL, cable and T-1-type connections) provide faster
and generally more reliable connections.
Are you using AOL
as your Internet Service Provider?
You must close down the AOL browser while using Dorman Direct.
How fast is your
computer?
We recommend a PC with a 500 MHz or faster processor.
How much memory
(RAM) does your computer have?
We recommend at least 500 mb of RAM for Windows XP and 1Gb for Vista. (the more the better particularly if you are trying to run other programs). Click here
to see how to check how much RAM your PC has.
What other programs
are you running?
If you are running other programs on your PC, your computer's
resources may be depleted. Reducing the number of programs
can isolate the problem. Try and run Dorman Direct with no
other programs open and see how that works. Then open one
program at a time and wait, it's a good way to pinpoint the
issue.
Does the page not
fully load at all and just sit on a white background?
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu selection, then
select Internet Options , then click the Advanced tab and
see if you have Sun Java enabled. If so, then disable it.
If you don't see it, then you don't have it.
I cannot see the
whole Dorman Direct screen.
Your monitor resolution should be set to 1024 x 768 for optimal
viewing.
It appears that
data is not coming through.
Hit the Refresh button on your browser. If that does not bring
the data up to date, you may have an Internet connection problem.
See the question below for possible causes.
Are you having problems connecting
to our server? Or does it seem very slow?
Poor connectivity can result from a number of causes. Running
a Windows utility called tracert.exe can narrow down where
the "bottleneck" may be. This utility sends a small
packet of information across the Internet to the destination
address. It notes the "stops" along the route to
the ultimate destination. Higher hop times may indicate the
source of a poor connection. Click here
to see how to run the tracert utility.
